Description
This is one of the rarest pieces in the Vault, a 1991 sneaker released under the Canon Renault Williams F1 team brand, from an era most sneakerheads have never seen. It arrived during the Nigel Mansell and Riccardo Patrese years in the Canon Williams-Renault FW14, and came in its original box branded Williams Grand Prix Engineering Limited, with full-color photos of the Williams-Renault on the lid, a Union Jack competition entry card tucked inside, and a small printed card that reads, please take care when trying on not to scratch the soles or damage the linings. That card tells you exactly what these were: not athletic shoes, not performance footwear, but licensed collector’s items and merchandise pieces designed with real intention at one of the most competitive moments in Formula 1. The 1991 season was the year Williams built the fastest car on the grid, with Mansell and Patrese combining for seven wins in a chassis penned by a young Adrian Newey. These are a genuine piece of both F1 and footwear history, the exact kind of crossover grail this store was built for. One of one to the market. Price on request, message the Vault via the Contact page to inquire.
